Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India has released a new notification to commence CEED exam
for such capable students who are interested to get admission in M.Des and Ph.D programmes in design. Desirable and dynamic candidates willing to appear for MHRD Common Entrance Examination for Design examination on January they are advised to go through the activated link to fill the CEED Registration online application form on or before. CEED Application Form
CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) is the national level examination which will be operated by IIT Bombay on behalf of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India at several locations described already. Pass out appliers will get admission in M.Des courses in IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur and in many other institutions. Eligibility Criteria: See this-
  • Candidate must possess degree/ diploma/ postgraduate degree of 4 years or 3+2 years (after 10+2) OR applicant has passed GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5).
  • Applicants those who are appearing the qualifying examination can also fill the CEED application form.
  • Ministry of Human Resource Development has not provided any age limit to apply for CEED.
  • Candidates can appear CEED any number of times.

CEED Application Fee: Before submitting application form candidates need to pay application fee. Fee is to be paid only through credit card, debit card and net banking options are available for submitting the application fee. The application fee is non refundable. Applicants who will submit CEE Application form after the closing date have to submit the late fee of Rs. 500/- along with the application fee. See this-
  • For General candidates: Rs. 2200 + GST
  • For SC/ST/PwD and Women candidates: Rs. 1100/- + GST

Admission Process: First of all candidates need to undergo through Common Entrance Examination for Design examination. After the result of the entrance examination is out, selected applicants can apply for their preferred institutes to pursue their degree. Candidates will be given the admission in their preferred institute as per the norms set by the institute for admission.

Exam Pattern: Common Entrance Examination for Design examination is conducted for admission to M.Des and Ph.D courses in design. In Common Entrance Examination for Design exam, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) conducted CEED exam in two parts i.e. Part-A and Part-B. Part B tests the candidate designing and drawing skills. It is mandatory for the candidates to pass the Part-A in order to qualify for Part-B.

Part-A is a computer based test (CBT) while part-B is the paper based test. Part A contains objective type questions (MCQ, Multiple Select Questions and Numerical Answer Questions). There will be total 50 questions in Part-A. Part-A contains 3 sections. Section-1 will contain 5 questions, Section-2 will contain 10 questions and the remaining 35 question will be contained by Section-3. Candidates must attempt Part-A in 1 hour

For Part-B, questions will be displayed on the answer but students have to write the answer in the answer book provided by the examiner. Total time given to complete Part-B is 2 hours. The language of question paper will be English only. 2 marks will be provided to each correct answer. There is a negative marking for Part-A. 0.6 mark be deducted in first and third sections of part-A.

  • Last date to rectify discrepancy in admit card (if any): 2nd week of January
  • CEED exam date: January
  • Publication of draft Answer Key for Part A: January

  • Downloading of Score Card: March

How to fill CEED Registration Form: Follow given steps-
  • Students should go to the official website of Common Entrance Exam For Design that is www.ceed.iitb.ac.in
  • On the home page enter on “Brochure” link.
  • Read the details from CEED Brochure carefully and match eligibility before appearing in examination.
  • Wiling appliers must select “Apply” tab.
  • Fill Online application form and upload all required documents and certificates with registration Form.
  • Now pay application fee through proper mode.
  • Check filled entries and press on “Submit” tab.
  • In the end take the hard copy of CEED Online Form and keep it safe for future use.
